Hi peeps.
Has anyone fit the 4 pot willwood brakes to their mini?
The question I need to know is does the braided hose use a dowty washer or something similar to give a fluid seal between the hose and the caliper or does it just reley on a close tolorence fit between the threads. Ie no washers
Finally is the male thread fraction tapered ?
Hope u can help
Thanks

Taper threads are for low pressure applications only and should never be used on a hydraulic fitting (which is what this is).

Sealing should be a washer, probably a copper washer is most suitable.

Thanks Tom. So if I am to use a cooper washer that means that I should be able to screw the end in flush?

Assuming that there isn't a seat in the bottom of the threaded hole in the caliper, yes. You may need to check length to ensure the fitting can compress the copper washer to seal without bottoming out.

Actually some, if not most Wilwoods are a tapered thread, (I think the ford M16 replacements are M10) so its likly that it wont screw all the way in.

I seem to remember a recomendation of sealing compund or PTFE tape.

Aren't metro 4 pots tapered thread into the caliper as standard, but the mini conversion uses banjo bolts and washers?
