Does any one have any experience of the epoxy resins which claim to be on par with welding as I need to repair a bit of cast iron.

Yes, i once tried it on a cast exhaust manifold, The place i used to work had some special chemical expoxy metal which we used to repair engine blocks in emergencies. It looked great but 30 minutes later it was like a smoke grenade has been let off under the bonnet as the metal strted to burn.

Belzona, will take heat mass, but not on exhausted manifolds or turbos, onto downpipes, other than that super to get you away! Ben

iv used quick steel before with good results never failed Done now needs redoing lol |

Repaired lose thermostat stud hole that was weeping. stuff it in and re-tapped it. Still holding after several years. Also fixed a Landy front axle case that had a split in and my welding was shit so it dripped oil. Took the oil out and cleaned the area with brake cleaner and it stuck like shit to a blanket. Fixed the leak as well |

jb weld very good used it on a cracked engine block ,still in use 10 yrs later with no leaks give em hell |
