I think it depends on what you want from the car, If its just a bit of fun then i can see why you wouldn't invest, but for me, I would love to see some sticky yok's and a lsd and 12's will come up in no time, for the sake of £600 (ish) i would think of it as an investment ( thats what i would tell myself for justification)

hi matt ,thanks for the offer ,but i would have to change brakes ,i still have nics old 10's !

stef , i can definately see your point , but at the mo my best possible ,that is all my best sectors added up, is 13.08 ,so if you look at my boost log ,you can see i ran about 5 psi more in 3rd last year , so i could have run faster with more boost in 3rd and 4th this year ,just messed up the adjustment .
but yes the temptation to add yoks and lsd ,and knock about .5 to .6 off my time is very much there lol.

how about a wheelie bar/variable wheelbase ? I have seen a few pics of a 480 bhp civic/ daily driver that used one and that guy usualy has a few good ideas

If you're after some sticky tyres on a budget. You could look out for some used 13" A048s on eBay. They come up all the time and are cheap as chips. Whack them on a spare set of 13" wheels. Hey presto.

I say 13" as 12" are much less common.

true gary , trouble is they all seem to be 185 60 13 ,and my gearing is way too high for 1/4 mile as it is ..i am only crossing the line at 6k ,and pk power is at 6900.....then again if i could crawl off the line i could go over the finish in 3rd ,so save a change ..
