my superchargers going now, after the first engine seazed up loosing all its oil coz of the oil gauge pipe splitting!

stuart fitted t this time, now its alot slower than it was before, and theyre both mg 1275 engines. missfires at 3k in 4th,sometimes revs get to a certain point where it wont progress anymore, had a tinker with the mixture doesnt seem to do much, sparks are all black so leaned it off but no different. any ideas?? stuart set the timing, but couldnt get it on the rollers due to exhaust leak, lambda probe couldnt get a steady reading. its got a red top solid state pump, and a regualtor which doesnt work! bought from avonbar, the lowest psi i can set it to is 4psi ish,and thats turning the nob to 1 psi on he regulator, boght another from minispeed and its the same!!

the other engine was tons faster with the same setup,im confused...

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

sorry to hear that dan *frown*

in genrall misfires are caused by a partial lean off in the mixture at a given RPM

this of course, is .... if everthing checks out A.O.K ?..ie ignition leads ect and you havent put a fault on by mistake ?

so a rolling road session will reveal the whole picture for you.

the second issue you have is why this engine is slower than the last

well things like boar wear bearings ect ect..... do you know the history of this unit?..

also if the compression checks out ant the oil pressure is ok then .. a RR session could well bring this back for you.

if both engines are the same spec or as near as dam it .

good luck

he did say the oil light takes a little longer than usual to go out,but i think its hardly noticable.ive had another play with the mixture and its quicker now,but still hesitates alot and misses at 3k in 4th gear. is it just a case of getting it rolling roaded or is it fucked? dont really wanna have to buy yet another engine!

A rr will reveal all dan

the mixture setting which you are altering
IS only for tick over only!

the needle profile needs to played with to get this correct! in the right power band.

a compression check will reveal the state of the engines internalls to determine how much wear has taken place on the bores.
and to deduce the fitness of the motor

this together with mr VMAXS advice will sort the problem for you

this is only basic advice dan as there are too many permutations to deal with

as you are taking it to a RR session

keep us posted buddy.

good luck!

Reads "my mates" max power whilst wearing my Mrs's underwear

how long you had the super charger dan ?

i think if you spend the oner on a rr they can either fix it, or tell you its fucked at least that way you know if your flogging a dead horse,
i know what it feels like being short for cash but sod it blow the oner on the rr you know it make sense.
saying that no motor is fucked as anything can be fixed, you just need to know whats broke first!
the rr will set in in the right direction to fix it

Dan

Do you have a fuel return line to the tank?
If you cannot reduce the fuel pressure despite adjusting the regulator then it sounds like the return is too small.

Have you read / followed the advice laid out by TD in previous postings regarding checking the electrical side of things?
Misfires are down to spark or fuel issues at the end of the day.

If Stuart put it together for you I suggest you seek his advice.
Sort the exhaust out so that he can do a full set-up for you.
