OK, so I know the Fiat cinq is the preffered choice.

I have one of the earlier and one of the later (no temp sender) Fiat ones to play with shortly but I started with the Metro Mk1 (brand new but non-genuine).

I've read that the Metro Mk1s come in two different thicknesses... if so I must have the thinnest and most useless.

Extended testing of the efi over the last few days and - totally stationary on my drive - at idle, the temperature exceeds 100C with the fan running continuously. Maxes at about 105-110 but the fan setting is 90 and it never stops running.

Anyone running a Mk1 Metro rad sucessfully on the road ??? - my testing has all been stationary - before I dump it for the Fiat one(s).

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

all the mk1 rads I have seen are about 40mm thick, the mk2 ones are about half that but still seem to cool ok, except if they have most of the fins missing like one i had....

Im going for the chinq rad for mine. works OK on johns car and I have the benefit of more holes in my valance and a bit of metal to force the air up into the rad.

i am using the mk1 metro rad . performance is good .no sign of overheating in any conditions .in traffic it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to get to fan initiation ,its a small homemade fan ,and usually runs for about a minute then turns off as the temp is below the switch threshold at that point .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

Make sure you get a decent Cinq rad if you do order one Rod. The cheapo one's suck!

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I recently bought a VW Caddy one for mine, it was the biggest I could find and just fits in the front (fibreglass clubby front though), very happy with the size, hoping I won't even need much fan assistance.
