hi all,
ive previously built a turbo mini up for a freind but didnt do any tuning so quite new to the subject.

while reading a few build diarys ive seen that people have been grinding out the wastegate. what i wondered was why its ground out and what benefits it has. i also wondered what other modifications i should idealy be performing on the standard metro turbo, actuator and manifolds to get top bannana's.

thanks all

Andy

This was just done on the gt2056 to allow the boost to be reduced to a sensible level.

It won't net you any bananas I'm afraid.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

It's basically a valve that controls boost levels, by diverting gases away from the turbine to control its speed. As standard on the gt20, its not large enough, and couldn't flow enough, so was causing it to boost spike.

The standard manifold and turbo elbow can be ported with good results, benross or turbo Phil on here can do this if you don't fancy s go yourself. Have s search.
