well engine was running fine done a few miles since being in the gtm. Then the other night it, when slowing down it cut out. then would only start with foot on the throttle/ choke out. Drove home ok with keeping the revs above idle kind of speeds. Reading lean on the AFR. plenty of fuel getting to the carb.

Will only start on choke and revs quite high, when choke is in revs will drop, struggle then cut out. Could this be the inlet manifold leaking? there is a slight leak on the exhaust middle branch.

engine is on megajolt and ran fine when in the metro.

If its any help watch out for ignition system failures, I had this when I had a couple of intermittently duff ignition leads. It shows up on the afr gauge as really lean, it wouldn't idle and cut out when slowing down to a stop

The one lead seemed to be earthing out on the choke cable so moved the choke cable somewhere else, perhaps this has buggered the lead?

Mine were just rubbing on my old intetcooler slightly, was enough to bugger them both although they seemed fine, I found it by pulling the plugs out 1&2 were black

failing that give the manifold ect a squirt of soapy water and get it on boost, pull over and look for bubbles

spray some carb cleaner at the inlet manifold, if the revs pick up then there's a leak

mainland europe near ze germans

i would worry more about having a hot manifold nearby . i allmost managed to burn down my daily driver when a gust of wind blew some motoroil over the manifold when i had to add some oil on the hard shoulder.. burned like a bbq ! luckily i had a jerrycan of ghetto screenwash (water) in the back

That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

You don't need to empty the spray can on the manifold... If there is a leak you will notice soon enough..

Also if there is a leak probably most noticable on cold start. (added advantage no hot exhaust manifold)

Having said that never can be too cautious.

it seams stupid i know. but water runs through some inlet manifolds to cool it down. it does on mine. i tried to run it through a 15mm copper pipe instead to eliminate the problem. still have water mixed in my fuel. it must be condones coming in my fuel tank tank when temperature changes.
