I have a little project on the go, and could do with knowing how thick a standard steel door skin is?

As I dont want to cut mine off until i know if my idea is going to work?

Cheers

Steve

I seriously doubt it!

I'd have said that Genuine skins would be nearer the 0.8mm and the non genuine nearer the 0.6mm

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Sound, cheers. I'll allow for 1mm then to give me .25mm of glue.

They start off .8 but where the metal is stretched like the door handle recess and around the edges it'll be thinner - .6
Non gen probably start around .6 and become thinner

I seriously doubt it!

cheers for the help, had a go today

290 grams, leaving 25mm of steel around the outside of the door, then this fits from behind.

I know, tbh I haven't got the time to mould both doors, so I rolled a mould out of aluminium and made it off that.
