Had a search but couldn't see anything, wondered if anyone had an idiots guide to fitting a new camshaft.
Not something I've ever tried before and going to be giving it a go in a few weeks
cheers

(Based on 1275 A+ Engine, from memory and very rough guide assuming the engine is out the car and most ancillaries removed)

1. Remove Rockers and pushrods
2. Remove flywheel housing cover
3. Remove flywheel
4. Remove transfer casing
5. Split gearbox and block
6. Remove distributor drive
7. Remove mechanical fuel pump (Although you might not have this being a turbo forum)
8. Remove crank pulley
9. Remove timing chain cover
10. Remove timing chain tensioner
11. Remove timing gears
12. Remove camshaft thrust plate (think this is what its called, triangle-like plate with three bolts)
13. Make sure the cam followers are as far in the block as they can be so they don't get caught on the cam when removing it.
14. Slide camshaft out of the block being careful not to damage the cam bearings with the edges of the cam lobes.

Pretty sure this is correct but as i said, its a very rough guide.

15. Make sure the new cam is compatible with your oilpump
16. Don't use a hammer.

Or an old diff to whack it in!!!

Don't forget to replace the followers, use plenty of cam jam and run in for 20 mins at 2000rpm for 20mins once back together.
