Evening, how do you get the brake master cylinder off, i thought you had to remove the split pins on the pedals but i cant get to them |

Depends which type you have. If its the non servo type then yes you need to get to the split pin and clevis on the pedal, and yes they are bloody awkward!!

super long nose pliers...or hands like a kiddy fiddler is the trick.

undo it under bonnet and remove split pin through the hole(under it)

Dangerous - Surely you can't get access this way? Or is it still a case of using long-nose pliers, just without being a contortionist (sp?) at the same time?

The clevis pin is 1 1/4" down when you pull the m/c up.

Some peeps tie a bit of fishing line to the split pin and leave under carpet for the next time,or use a p clip thing.....er.....like what holds the shell on,on a remote control car

I still have an old paperclip in mine from when the clevis pin fell out and i lost the split pin, on the way back from MITP four years ago ! lol Edited by Turbo Phil on 10th Jun, 2005. |
