Hey guy, went to attach the heater cable tonight and I think I need a metro one?

Can anyone confirm the mini one is too small for a standard turbo head and heater valve please:

Also is the standard mini throttle cable long enough or do I need a metro one aswell? I broke it today and so want to make sure the one I replace it with is going to work.

Cheers

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Carb and heater thingy are both in the same place so standard length cables should be fine.

Oh, mine isnt *oh well*. Mmmmm on the 998 the heater valve is in a different location its pointed forward instead of to the side?

Bit more research needed i think

the original heater cable should be ok on the assumption that you are using the same tap; IIRC the taps are in a slightly differing position between 998 and 1275 however I've never had to renew a control cable

Depending on the original car spec, the HIF can have a differing locating thingy where the throttle cable sits on the retaining plate; again will still be the same length though

The metro doesn't have heater cable in the engine bay, as the heater setup is completely different.

these normally get snipped as you catch them quite alot when working in the engine bay and are rather sharp i had to buy a new one too as mine had been cut but there only cheap

Thats great if it's long enough to begin with, but the whole topic is about it being too short. Picture even shows that.

*tongue* *wink*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Measured my cable 28.5" minispares says standard one is 30.5" or something like that, so that explains my problem :)

Can't say I've ever had a problem where a heater cable needs trimming, normally fit perfectly.
Throttle cable etc should also be fine.
