There should be some sort of message at the bottom of the window? I can't remember exactly what they mean but 'timeout' errors normally something isn't on or isnt connected

If you get stuck again have a look on the autosport lab's forum, most of the topics in the 'operation' section are about getting laptop and megajolt to converse

I'm fairly sure 'time out reading cylinder count' means the box isn't being powered properly.

If it is in the car i'd check for good earths of the EDIS and the box, and that your ign +ve is really an ignition +ve and is sending power when you turn the key. I believe the terminal top left of the standard fuxebox (thick white wire) is live when cranking and ignition live and is where I took mine from

Also make sure you're running the correct software, as I was having problems trying to run mine with the V4 software. For my V3 setup I used:
http://www.autosportlabs.net/asl_dist/mjlj...nfig_v3.2.1.exe

Also for V3 vehicle installation see:
http://autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V3_vehicle_installation_guide

Hope that helps
