never known there to be any different ones other than maybe clubmans.

there are different rings for some of the foreign mini's such as the innocenti's, but I belive they all sit the std head lamp bowl, the repro bowls come up a bit different though, especially cheap ones.

clubman use standard headlights but no rings as the grille goes round the lights

Done now needs redoing lol

Not intentionally, but I found my minispares stainless rings didn't fit my genuine mk1 metal bowls. But they did fit onto my mk3 plastic bowls. The stainless ones were ALOT tighter to fit on than the chrome ones that came off my mk3.

would i be correct in saying there left and right handed? when i painted mine i could only get them back on i presume the side they came off

UK built Mini's all used the same rims up to 1996. Mpi's use a slightly different rim in that it didn't have the dimple on the top. The screw underneath was in a different location to clear the levelling motor.

They aren't handed.

MGB's, Frogeye Sprites, etc, used a different shaped rim that used a slightly smaller bowl IIRC. Although the actual headlight was the same size.
