Hello chaps,

I've tried searching on here and google etc but no convincing answers.

I'm fitting a metro turbo into my was 850 mini. On the log book it only shows changes for engine capacity. What about the Turbo part?

What have other people done?

Do I just send it off as a 1275?

Cheers

David

How do I go on if I get pulled by the police though. Hopefully I won't but with my luck... Will they bend me over if the log book and insurance don't match??

If you do do it properly, it's only the cc that needs to change, the turbo will not appear on the logbook.

I've read here that people have had problems and I have the turbo block engine plate but from what I read, the DVLA need garage 'proof' of fitting / engine size. I don't really know any garages that would do that for me. I might try giving the DVLA for advice. Is this wise??

I went down the "correct route" stating mine was a 1293 CC and they put it down on the log book as a 1275, so a completely pointless task. I provided a letter from a "garage" saying exactly what size it was for them to put it down as standard bore size.

So even though ive gone down the correct route, technically mine is no more "correct than yours being down as an 850 when its a 1275. *oh well*

From what I gather, they are trying to get people to state the "exact CC of engine" eg 1293,1380 etc instead of just saying its a 1275 when its not a 1275. All very pointless tbh.

DVLA are useless. I have had many dealings with them and always trying to follow the law, its just not worth it..... the loop holes they create are fine in my eyes and will continue to be.... im not wasting my time with them when they dont want to know.... 1275cc is still 1275cc wether it has a turbo or not in my eyes. so when asked did you inform dvla of new engine cc you can say yes *smiley*

BHP sells engines, but Torque wins races!
