You have to search carefully, and be patient.

For example, I saw an ebay ad for a k1200rs engine, but it also mentioned he had an engine for breaking. Threw him an email if he'd sell a head and a week later I had a k1200rs head sat on the shelf.

My spare head I took a punt on buying a supposedly siezed complete engine, but it turned out a screw had fallen into the cylinder. No noticable damage and got for a good price.

Just hang in there and one will turn up!

This has all been this year too.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

well for me, i just wanted to try something different and maybes keep some of the oldschool flavor, and management costs a fortune.

But I'd have thought somewhere someones done it where race regs dont allow for injection.

Was just a question out of interest really..

Morspeed have built few engines running webers. The thing is by the time you buy the carbs, mapable igintion and a buy/make an adaptor plate to mount them, you're most of the way to the cost of running EFI. Add a wideband to the cost and its a no brainer. *oh well*

But I can also understand that running webers would look a bit more retro.

EDIT: due to not making sense!

I was considering doing one on webers if I kept it NA, in the end it just seemed pointless due to the amount of work and cost involved.

My new plan is to strap an M45 charger to one instead!

No bearings caps...that would be more hassle than its worth as you'd have to buy new ones and have them lined bored then buy a set of cams. *oh well*

they must be... surely someone would not sell the head without matched caps.
