hi,

i recently damaged my remote from my burglar alarm.

the rubber buttons were already long gone and one of the buttons on the pcb therefore broke off...

so i ordered a new remote @rimmer bros for my mpi.

anyone have an idea on how to set this remote/ alarm to the right frequency so it corresponds with my remote?

It needs to be programmed by some one with the appropriate service device. The fob needs to be programmed to the Alarm ECU and the Alarm ECU needs to be programmed to the Engine ECU, so that if any one device is replaced, it will not function. That is part of the 'anti theft' function.

There are a few ways this can be done, but the fob does need programming to the alarm ECU.

Have a google, but some might ask for you to send the alarm and engine ECU's along with the fobs to them.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Could you not just swap the 'guts' over into the new case.

Speak to an autolocksmith in your area, they will be able to do it. we do it up here in Aberdeen no problem.
