Hey chaps

Dunce Questions By A Dunce #2

Last night my mini had a lot of clutch slip - 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears wouldn't work at half throttle, and just span up the engine without going anywhere. Gear changes would go Rarrrrrrrrrwwwww before settling down (or until I lifted and re-applied part throttle).

Today however, the gear changes are still slow, but I can't get it to clutch slip at all.

So, what might cause that? Odd!

Go out and give it the beens for a while and see if it starts slipping again. Any sign of oil around the split pin in the bottom of the transfer case?

Rusty? Could be a sticky slave not allowing the clutch to engage perhaps.

Watch the end of the bell housing and get someone to pump the clutch for you.

First off make sure the return stop and throwout stop are adjusted correctly

I seriously doubt it!

Yeah, once the clutch is of pop it out with something sharp and then fit the new one with a special tool. You can borrow my tool if you like. the way my engine build is going it will be a little while before I need it...

Get the WOK of and pull the flywheel of and see what it's like around the crank.

Right, not that I am trying to make a quick buck, its more that you are in need, and I have the parts that I don't need.

I have a standard fixed center friction plate, a standard sprung center friction plate and an AP racing bonded friction plate, all available.

lets say £15 posted for any of the standard plates, and £85 posted for the AP racing plate.

Just let me know Iif I can help:)

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
