At least it's not just me that hates the bloody things sometimes...

Managed to shear the bolt in the carb that has the spring on it to hold the bimetallic jet holder, but it sheared with nothing protruding out of the hole...

Any suggestions? There isn't exactly much meat around the hole, so don't know about drilling and re-tapping... And don't want to bodge it, so I have no idea

Hadn't heard of those before? Just had a google, it should work, it want in there particularly tight...

Where's the best place to get them from? And is it worth getting an expensive set?

Definitely buy a decent set. I made the eBay mistake and when they snap flush inside the thing your trying to remove its a bast@@d to remove. Luckily we have a spark eroding machine

Where have people bought them from? Bearing in mind I'm going to have to drill a 1mm ish hole because the screw is so tiny...

What do you mean by hammer and punch Gary?

And craig, if you have the bolt that hold the spring then that would be a great help?

If there's enough exposed and its loose enough, you can rotate it using a hammer and punch.

I'd use an easy out and a small blow torch from b&q to apply some heat

Speeding is like masturbating, everyone does it, but not all of us film it and put it on the internet

Cheers Craig, I'm much the same *tongue*

There's nothing sticking out unfortunately, I'm tempted to just take it to an engineering shop to get it done, i'd rather pay than cock it up myself...

Someone suggested drilling and tapping the bolt (or what's left of it) with a left hand thread?

Here's what it looks like
