Hey chaps

Before I pull my engine apart, I was just wondering if you guys could help me work out what's in it from the invoices I've got?

I have one from minispeed saying:

Minisport said:
Bore: +40
Pistons: AE
Cam: Turbo Piper
Timing Gear: Duplex
Flywheel: Pre-Engage with Turbo Clutch
Special Instructions: Balance rotating assembly


Then I have another invoice for 8 months later for:
Aj Autos said:
Remove engine, remove gearbox and timing case.
Fit COP replacement camshaft and followers. Replace cam plate. Fit replacement recon gearbox, refit engine.


So, what's a COP camshaft? Why would they remove a piper one?
Are AE pistons any good, or are they just the standard ones?
A +40 bore means what cc?

A +40 is a 1310cc engine.

AE pistons have the potential to be good. All depends on piston they are. If stamped into the crown they have 20659 you have powemax pistons and they are certainly upto some abuse!

I think they are 9cc.

In terms of the cam....pass!

pull the head off and clean up the piston crowns, then get some piccies. It will tell you/us plenty about the engine and it's condition.
