Hey, want to chop out the hole(s) in my front end tomorrow, just wondering how much people take out? It's a 2pc Clubman front, I was thinking about cutting it out in 2 halves with about a 40mm wide strip left in down the middle for a bit of extra support, sound like a plan?

Also want to cut some round holes below the grille area, is a 2.5" - 3" hole saw about the right size to look good?

Cheeeeers,
TC

p.s. for chopping the headlight holes, is it just a case of line it up, draw round the holes and measure to check then cut?

No problem, i used the grille to mark the headlight hole locations too.

Slightly better picture from the back when i painted it.

How do you hold the grille and headlight surrounds away from the front? As there is a big gap between the ally stuff and the front panel...

My grille is a crap fit, I think the fg front isn't very good, but grill was off a fire damaged clubman so isn't true either, gonna need some hammer bodging and/or tin snips to get it to fit!

My headlights were slightly bigger than the holes and the whole grille was screwed together. Then 4 cap head allen bolts through the grille ends and the lights space it out okay. I was going to use nuts and washers to hold them out, or some narrow tube/hose but didn't need to in the end.

Best picture ive got of how it sits but thats with mk2 golf lights. I had to trim my front end to get the grille to fit too, pain in the ass.

Thanks again, getting fed up with trying to make stuff perfectly go together, getting to the stage now where its a case of cut/beat it to fit, then make it look nice!
