Australia oi oi oi!

So I have a 1275 A+

I for the moment wind the engine over
To find Top dead centre, I role the engine
Around until the piston is top with a screw driver.

I dont have a inspection plate on the clutch side
Unless it is painted over? but I see the arrow.

What easy way can I find TDC?

I worried about when I put the blower
On, I don't want to Be out a heap
Of degrees?

Do you have the standard crank damper on?

Drop the rocker cover off and check that the valves for number one cylinder are shut when the piston is at the top.

Forgive me, by why does it matter with the blower?

nick what for the cam timing?

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

You should have a small inspection plate on the clutch cover :S

Often not drilled on later housings.

My Supercharger pulley didn't come with a timing mark. I had to make my own therefore find TDC static so as the check with a timing light would have a mark to line up with. DTI with extended probe down no1 spark plug hole is the safest I found. I double checked this when I had the head off and it was spot on.

As Joe says, have a stop, wind the engine backwards and forwards to the stop, noting where it stops, and half way between is exactly TDC

I dont think guesswork would produce the results that the DON does, somehow.

Well I wanted the timing to be close.

I feel I'm just guessing rocking the piston
To top finding where it rocks to find TDC

Surely I'm a few degrees out?

Yeah my inspection plate is blanked.

Hey lads.

Just a thought I still have the timing teeth
On my timing cover.

Isn't the first one top dead centre?
The each teeth is 4 degrees? Is that right?
