Can someone please give me an idea of a starting point for the mixture screw on a blow through HIF, until I can get it tuned. Also what oil should I use in the damper, as all the oil has seeped out over time?

Oil most people use is 20/50 engine oil. Wants to be something good and thick, as anything thim will disappear in no time at all!

TurboDave wrote an item in a thread a bit ago recommending an initial setting for the carb. I think he said to take the dashpot assy out, and set the jet height level with the bridge of the carb. Have a search through the forum and you will probably find it.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

hi Dan,

warm the engine up and set the C0 TO 2.5% ON IDLE if its a standard turbo engine

if you have tuned it set the C0 to 5% AT IDLE

the oil in the carb dashpot most of us on hear use 20/50 engine oil.

Am I correct in assuming that the further the screw is in the leaner the mix?

the other way round dan

if you screw it in the mixture goes rich

if you screw it out the mixture goes lean

for IDLE, tickover
