Morning all,

Final decided to build a turbo engine for my mini after having my arse handed to me by the DON at MITP.
I know there's no chance of getting towards that sort of power or times but looking for around the 140 bhp ish.

Going down the road of a mirage manifold to prevent the bulkhead require cutting so will be looking at running a T2 I think. This is my first time at building a turbo motor so expect some questions if I can't find the answers in the search section *surprised*

I currently have a spare SPI block sat around and was wondering if this could be used as a starting point for the build as there is no oil feed take off the turbo. Going for 1293cc over bore so will need pistons but what dish? Going to dry deck the block and head (don't have head yet ad the one off the SPI is just a 12g940b small valve).

Think that's enough to start, thanks for the help in advance.

MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

SPI block is fine, you use the oil pressure take off as an oil feed for the turbo.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Pistons I would use cast omegas 10cc, £300 from med, plan for the future, as it gets pretty addictive *wink*

Lee mine is an spi block with the pistons benny quotes.. runs cracking on 20psi but the odd 25 psi run takes its toll on th car..
Edit: more than up to the job on a t2 and good future proofing imo because more boost will happen lol

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

A T2 is capable. Of producing 160 HP with all the good guy internals but i would opt for GT1752 off a sarb

Just built one and it made 186.3 HP and a massive! 190 ft pounds of torque,

Up to press it has grenaded several people's arses out.

And that's only @16.5 pounds of boost, I thought it was enough for the road and left it at that.

That's good to know. Time to start to source parts over the winter period. First of all clean block upend get it bored. Would you dry deck it before getting it bored but leave the grub screws out?

I assume this is what I need, would you surgest getting the crank re-ground and where? Don't really trust minisport.

Sorry for all the post.
