Got a problem with my 2056, it was completly free and in good condition, had been stored (taped up so shit couldnt get in) i got it out the other week as i was selling it and thankfully i checked it before sending it out as it dosnt spin freely now. Ive had a look and had apart On the intake side to clean it, when the intake side housing is off it spin freely and feels very healthy. However when the housing is put back on its pinching the wheel and stopping it from spinning.

So my question is is the turbo fucked and therefore bin fodder or am i missing something, ie should there be a thin gasket type thing between the housings that im missing causing it to pinch? Because in my head i cant see why it is possibly pinching. Really i want to sell it to recoup some money but i cant untill i know its ok.

I dont think the shafts bent, it dosnt look out when u spin the comp wheel, but ill have another closer look. Ive tried Rotating the hausing to see if it sits better at any rotation but it seems it be sitting well. Shall i get a video would that help show/ explain what its doing?

i understand what is going off i had the same problem with mine after porting out the wastegate it was just a single bit of burr on the mating surface, tolerances are so tight in there it was just touching as it spun, from what you have described..if the shaft is straight and there is no rust its likely to be dirt imo not much else to go wrong with it, there may be an o-ring on the compressor - backplate join cant remember if the GT20 has one or not tbh my spare is no where to hand ( infact i have no idea where it is :/)

Thought id say now its mine that the backplate is bent, making the comp housing sit slightly pissed
