Just after peoples opinions on what to set them at. The cam is a 274 @ 112° with 1.5 roller rockers. The manufacturer recommends 0.012, but the seams a little tight to me. It's going on my gay supercharged engine, so no turbo to get in the way of the exhaust flow.

Im guessing the 12 thou is from the cam manufacturer, that would be for standard rockers so you need to multiply that to the 1.5 rockers which makes 16 thou

(Well, usually)

Edited by paul wiginton on 3rd Sep, 2012.

I seriously doubt it!

The cam is one from Stuart Gur. He recommend 12 based on the 1.5 rockers.

andy its an easy change after if they are too tight. cant wait to see what this produces with the 112 LCA cam in

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Me too. The headline banana and curly wurly figures should happen pretty quickly once it's on the road, but I reckon me and John will be spending a long time getting cruise and part throttle right to get the best out of it....

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

i would guess that the over-run will also need some attention, as on my carb'd car it can still pull fuel when the throttle is snapped shut which used to make the car stall at junctions due to becomming way to rich.
This was solved is a bypass valve operated via the MJ at vac. (As the SC12 doesnt have an internal one like the Eaton) but doesnt elimniate it this will be easy to do with injection however it has me thinking that some fuel must help keep it all cool when on boost and suddenly comming off.

All going to be intresting and you should see some good MPG too at cruze... Well better than my average of 26mpg!

I have a piper cam and 1.5 rockers.I run .010 inlet and .012 ex but a bit 'loose'.It seems fine.I tried opening these up by the increased ratio but it sounded very rattly to me.

'Where does the engine go?'

14thou

(12/1.27)x1.5

Remember that the clearance is infact at the cam end, so you need to work back from the valve to find the clearance at the cam, then you cn multiply by 1.5 *wink*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

No idea what Kent recommend as I didn't get it from them...

Although I am aware it may have come from them originally. *wink*

work back from the standard vlalve clearance value and then recalculate for the 1.5 rockers, can't go far wrong with that.

TBH the Kent 0.016" does sound a bit tappety
