Might have even been there as my uncle raced speedworth f1 stockcars and I used to love going to the track with them.

George polly was a bit of a hero at that age, for no reason apart from he was super fast...

1983 wow.... Scary to think that's almost 30 years ago!
That was probably the same year I went to to my first race (at Long Eaton) and watched Dave Berresford take the win and got hooked on F1, and latterly banger racing when I realised how much it cost to be competitive! Sadly, stateside banger racing is lame - one of several things I really miss, but Nascar and the dirt short tracks make up for it. *smiley*

I was 8.. but was at the track at ayoung age with my uncles... the smell of oil and a sausage roll with a comp ticket in my hand it was great....
