A quick question chaps, Ive had aquick search but didn't find the answer.

Is a standard gt1752 actuator man enough for around 14 psi?

Its quite a bit smaller than the T3 actuator.

I was thinking of swapping it for my T3 metro turbo one but its not as easy as I thought as i need to modify the threaded actuator arm.

any advice appriciated.

It'll be fine. Any more and you may need a restrictor in between the compressor housing and actuator though.

Mine topped out at 10psi but that is what bleed valves are for.

my stock gt17 one shoots round to 25psi + with no probs .just need a small enough restrictor and a big enough bleed valve .

Ditto. The upside down skip had a 2 bar gauge and it saw the end of the scale once or twice...

thanks for all your help guys.

Looks like the standard one will give me more than enough boost.

What do you guys use as a restrictor, I've read that a welder tip will do the job?

We used a 0.8mm welding tip, but it made it very sensitive. Turning it an 1/8th of a turn took you from actuator to 18-20 psi...

We also tried some tube from the vac advance line on a dizzy, this would only bleed of 17psi (why we never broke 200 bananas on the rollers). Clamping it down with a cable tie helped, but still only got us 20ish psi.

i used some brake pipe and kept crushing it untill 1/2 a turn gives me 50% more boost (on a 15psi actuator) its easy to work out in my head then what boost i will get without guessing.. not that i use a bleed valve *wink* lol

one thing i found is , if you just ram the jet down the pipe ,and use it that way ,there can be leakage around the jet ,which gives the effect of the jet being bigger than it really is .

if you then stick a zip tie around it ,and forget .you can find your 3 turns to go from 5 to 19 psi , is now 1/4 turn ,and so , if you then go drag racing ,and turn it up as normal ,you hit about 48 psi boost and blow a inch wide hole in your head gasket and drive home sulking on 2 cylinders at 25 miph .

so lots of options for a restrictor then! thanks for all your help!

I might try the vaccume advance pipe of a dizzy first and see how that goes, im not planning on going over 17psi so should be ok.

are you speaking from experiance by any chance there robert?? *wink*
