Hey, I'm fabricating a rear beam, and have already stripped my old subframe down. Can anyone help with a measurement giving me the width between backplate mounting flanges/stub axles so I can weld mounts in?

Cheers,
TC

Haynes book I have gives following:
Width between front mounting block lower set screws as 1282.7mm (I think mine was about 1281-2mm when measured before I cut the heel board up)
Rear blocks 997.9 mm

Search Google images, there are dimensional drawings for both frames out there

Thanks for the replies, it is for the hub dims not the subframe ones, will try google now!

Edit: no luck, this is the dimension I want (in red), face to face where the backplates bolt on ideally!

p.s. I know this isnt a standard subframe but dims should be the same

Thanks but doesn't show the radius arms or hub positions, subframe mounts aren't a problem just getting the dim between the rear hubs.

Hey, no I just nicked the image from google, I'm making one like it though, still scratching my head as how to do the bearings so they are adjustable in 2 planes, most I've seen dont look strong enough to me.

So far I've folded up the channel for the beam, and I intend to fab the rad arms from 38mm CDS tube with ball joints for the pivots, just not sure what type and how to mount them yet, purely as I want adjustable camber!

Can anyone confirm Alan's 43.1/2" measurement before I start cutting and welding?

Also is there a dimension from the heelboard to hub centre, I'm not sure how far the standard mounting blocks hold the subby away from the heelboard...

Just thought I'd put a pic up- nearly finished radius arm, just got to weld flange on for brake backplate, press the stub axle in and put extra damper support in.

I like the look of that Min Tec setup. Wonder what it weighs?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Cheers, CDS, the smaller OD tube actually passes through the 1.5" stuff and is fully welded to the hub, so there is twice as much weld on there as appears, which should make it much stronger as I was concerned about the original design.

Do you know the weight and do you think it will cope? Miniminor63 put alot more supports on his setup after being advised the A style was not strong enough.
