basicly on my daily Im running m/j v4.
every now and then when Im cruising along in 4th at a constant speed it will just try and die until i go down a gear and boot it which then it clears up and is fine?
it also soemtimes tries to die if Im booting it say in second.
as soon as it starts to pick up it may just die and loose power till i let off and floor it again?
its like a safety mode or something kicking in?
I've tried the Ecu off my track car and it still seems to have the same problem.
my next step is to try swapping edis and coil pack+ leads over.
has anyone else had this problem?

Fuelling?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

wouldn't it do it more constant if it was fueling?
this is only doing it every now and then atm.

I meant CPS not TPS...

When you save the settings are you flashing them to the ECU? There are three buttons in the Mj software, read settings, send settings, flash ECU. If you don't flash them it will loose the settings when you cut the power.

benross not sure as ive never checked it?
it ran fine before though?
i put a new coi lpack on today, edis unit, plug leads and different MJ unit and its still doing the same thing :(

what i did notice however when i had the front end off and went for a naughty drive without it is that the dip stick must try and pop out as you are booting it as there is oil residue splatted up on the oil filter (mpi block)
took the dipstick out on idle and its throwing bits of oil out like maybe compresion rings may be shot?
is it normal to throw a bit out?
ill do a compression check tomoz i reckon for peice of mind.....

Mine did this and the earth was dodgey, although mine did it less regularly than you describe, it's probably worth checking the earths, and the +ve connections are all okay as well?
