I'm happy with mine done at mini mine. It will be at Combe if you want to have a look. IMO a good price too...

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

You can save yourself a lot of money if you do the prep work yourself - even to the point of hiring a small compressor and gun to apply the high build primer, so that the sprayer only has to put the top coat on

Many good painters won't touch a job that's already been prepped, good finish all depends how well its been prepped, there not going to risk it.

My car was dipped. I etched and stone chipped the underneath and the rest cost £2k.

CossieRickety is a painter by trade and is good, but he's the other side of the penines to you.

the quality of a paint job is generally all in the prep work. Time = money. A few short cuts and a bit of penny pinching will be a regret longer term. In simple terms, you get what you pay for.

I got mine done on the cheap by a painter friend and it still stood me £1200. That was a few years ago now so i'd suggest a budget of £2k

The cost of the paint and filler materials alone will set you back near £500

Have a word with Paul at Minichanics on the outskirts of Stockport. Can be found on Facebook under Minichanics.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I sprayed the brown streak myself. I think all in with having to buy the compressor and gun and mask, etc it cost around £700. The finish is not that great, but fine for the price and the purpose.

i remember when I was living in Southend, there was a garage round the corner that would put paint on a car for £100 including paint if you did all the prep - i also remember learning you get what you pay for after seeing a few cars come back out. THe guy used to do at least a couple of cars a day

£400 notes was for a pretty good job.

I have had an offer of £900 for a full bareshell respray from a guy who is going it alone and looking for a few photo cars to build his portfolio.

Going to take him up on his offer.

Also had a quote of £500 plus i buy all the gear.
