Trying to get the car started (no intercooler as of yet, but the turbo is all plumbed in now) and its just not kicking into life.

This is a new megajolt v4 setup so I havnt seen it working, but looking over the wiring diagram everything looks to be in the right place. The power LED on the megajolt is lit.

I took a spark plug out (brand new set) and cranked the engine with the other three in and saw a feint spark.

By this point the battery was dying, could that be a problem? I'll hook it up to my girlfriends car and see if it makes any difference when she gets back.

Any ideas/suggestions?

have you checked the spark plug gaps? thats more likely to be the issue if you're using an MJ.

Can this cause a bad spark? I havnt changed it myself as it was secured in the bracket when I bought the kit of someone, and seemed to match the pulley? I'll measure the gap when I get back, what should it be?

A gnats nob end, sorry out on me phone at the mo but should be easy enough to find, no edis on yours so I would say crank sensor is possible, have you tried it with laptop connected?,as benross says check coil also there are 2 coils one left and right viewed from the front with the connector at the top, if its the same 2 on one side, one half of the coil could be goosed. MJ are a bit fussy on spark plug gaps but only really under power/load should start and idle pretty well. Get a fully charged battery on there and also check you are getting 12v at the mj when cranking.

Okay, thanks for that, I'll have a look at the crank sensor.

Any way of telling if the coil pack has passed away?

And it might not be the v4 then if that doesn't have an EDIS, as this does.

That was me being presumptuous, in that case forget mj start at the edis check under cranking and full 12v supply to that, it should start and run mine with no mj at all, so get this sorted first. Read what I have put about the coil pack above, check 1 plug from each bank if they are the same then possibly not the coil, if they are different they perhaps the coil

I'd start by whacking a good battery on it.

You're banging your head against a wall if using a flat battery

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

The battery was only dying towards the end of trying to find the root of the problem, I'd done everything I'd mentioned before it started going flat.

I'll be picking up a multimeter tomorrow so I can check for continuity (I didn't make the loom) and that it's seeing the correct voltages everywhere.

Dad took the multimeter to it today, I have no idea what he was looking at on it, I'm assuming checking everything was doing its job properly, it showed everything was as it should be apparently, which means it's probably the coil pack, as the signal to it is fine.
