Hey, just remembered hearing that some people cut a small access hole in the crossmember to get better access to the back of the pedal box, does anyone have a picture of one and whether it's worth doing? I'll be painting the shell soon so want to do this stuff now if it's gonna be done at all!

TC

p.s. I know it would have a panel which bolts on to cover it up most of the time.

Id say its not worth it, theyre a doddle to fit with long nose pliers - shouldnt take more than a minute each

I seriously doubt it!

Mine went straight in with some very long pliers. Same for the split pin.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Got one of those but the metal is very soft. As you push on the pin it just bends. Also brought the engine mount to subframe bolt tool. Same problem although it does get them into position nicely.

Yeah I looked at it again yesterday, a its fully stripped out and only has a big hollow carbon dash so should be easy to get at so not going to bother!

Also, use 'R' clips of an appropriate size in place of split pins. Sooo much easier.
