Hi all,

I really like the look of yellow headlights, but just wanted to find out how to go about this?
I have seen them on big_blue_bug's mini in his profile pic and they look amazing.

•Do I buy yeallow tinted headlight (can these be bought?) or

•Do I tint my original headlights, with a yellow film? or

•Do I get yellow tinted bulb and just replace my original bulb?
How does this work, which route do I go to get this look? Where can can I buy these headlights, if this is the way to do them? And finally are they road leagal?

All help is really appreciated.

Thank You

Bobby

Northamptonshire.

They are plastic covers held on with elastic and plastic clips

tbh its not legal or illegal depends on MOT tester and how the cops are feeling its a grey area some say they are fine some say they don't its odd

I did a bit of research on this when I bought my car.

It goes back to the french in WW2 - they had to have different coloured headlights to differentiate them from the Nazis.

From my findings, its legal as long as your beams are correct, and your car is of the right age - i can't remember though how old that was, I suspect similar age to the black/white plates.

Either way talking from experience it dramatically affects how well you can see at night so i'd give it a miss if I were you.

just realised it was my car that sparked the question!

It was coloured film on the lenses - so normal lights underneath with yellow sticky film applied on top. seemed to work ok.

Ok, well this is a option that I may do with the film, as my car is 71' so will be running the black and silver plates and will be that era. Will need to do more reserch though, may go and have a word with my MOT station, just to get the understanding of the legal rights

The yellow headlight covers are beam deflecters for driving on the right in some EU countries (Eg France).

That's why visibility became worse,

Northamptonshire.

9 times out of 10 they do affect the beam pattern on headlights we use.

I painted my spot lights with glass paint. Look up the thread it'll tell you everything I did. Looks good but can't comment on driving at night or legality
