What turbo?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

A while back I had a T25 go on my 200SX - turned out the turbine shaft had snapped and was bouncing around in the housing.

Does it run well other than the smoke? or does it feel down on power?

White is water, blue is oil. Sounds like the head gasket may have gone.

I'd suggest starting with a compression test to rule that out.

Well, you're burning something - hence the smoke. so its either water, or oil both of which can be from a blown HG.

if its only smoking on boost it could be the turbo needs a rebuild, or new oil seals. The turbo can leak oil into the exhaust downpipe which burns and produces smoke.

talking from experience (i'm still going through it) its a process of elimination. I'd start with a compression test, and taking the turbo off for inspection.

what does the noise sound like and where is it coming from?

Forgot to say when it first started to smoke it was on tick over e.g when I stopped to a set of lights

Tick ovet is normaly guides, id do a comp test and whip a boost pipe off to see if theres oil in there which would be turbo.

If you can hear a rattle thats most likely to say turbo,

Can you get the intake pipe off to check for play in the turbo?

Right took it apart there is oil from the turbo into the inter cooler nothing going the carb and no oil out of the turbo to the exhaust.. I have the head off and there is oil in the pistions and the head gasket looks a little gone but from a water way to the pistion... Hope this helps

Turbo needs a rebuild looking at the snail outlet. the oil in the bores and on the deck is likely to have come of the head when you lifted it of..

The burn in the gasket wouldn't cause the smoke problems.

nice looking engine bay though, you've done well to get it all in, especially with the front rad and the alternator, is that an mpi one? or custom?

What intercooler is that?

If I do need one where can I buy a reckoned one from as Avon bar is not there no more? I brought this one from them 1 year ago... The other thing I am confussed about is there is only oil going in to the inter cooler not coming out the other side to the carb?

Any turbo reconditioner. Try yellow pages, or big names like turbo technics

That head gasket looks like the head is under torqued. Check your torque wrench.
