somewhereintheuniverse near selkirk scotland

as title ive got a set of minilite 6x 13 wheels ,only thing is they have a polished rim on the outer couple of inches the inner rim is factory fresh paint not a mark ,however the polished bit must have been laquered and theres signs of corrosion under the laquer ,anyone know whats best to get the old laquer off without taking the inner rim paint off so i can re polish the outer two inches thanks guys

IMO I would just have them bead blasted and fully powder Coated job done for many years

They do silver now with a glitter tint in the paint

You will be back to square one in a few years if you reinstate. Them to OEM spec

The polished bit on the outside willof had its finish done with a lathe, it then has somthing like a 2hour window before you can laquer it again with a special laquer with etcing agents in.
I do no somone who taped out the inner and paint strippered the laquer off the polished rim. Only problem then is your left with bare ally. It needs polishing every other day then and would be an absolute pain in the arse on a show car never mind a toy.
