I am currently in the process of making the adaptor plate and elbow for my GT17. I have noticed that the T3 elbow fits onto the outlet of the turbo, which on first indication looks like it should give me roughly the same height to connect the exhaust. some machining will be needed to adapt the elbow but doesnt look too much work. Has anyone tried this?? i have seen a few people make a plate flange and weld an elbow to it etc.

Just gauging weather its been tried and failed.

Cheers

David

I'd may be interested in this if you could make it work.

I wuldent bother due to the fact you would then still have the t3 style downpipe and pain in the arse clamp.

Matts looks awsome!

I have found / stumbled across a clamp that i use at work, Stainless steel, single bolt v clamp, im hoping it will do the job. We use them to join flanges on pipework, the 2" one seems to fit ok.

a link, comments would be good, the one ive got is the heavy duty one.

I used a short section of tube flared at the end, with a loose ring drilled to fit on the turbine outlet studs for clamping.

I just used the first 3" of a Saab down pipe tu achieve what Steve has done, above.
