looks like a suppressor to me; used to install them to stop electrical noise through radio etc |

It's to stop interference. connect to the negative on the coil and put the other end under the coil bracket bolt On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Its a long time since I've done anything with these, but I always thought it was the positive side that needs tying down to earth through a capacitor to stop the whistling noise through the stereo?

Aren't coils normally handed. The positive has female spades and the negative male spades? So it should only fit on one side. My memory is not what it was though. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

The terminals unscrew though. I've had to swap them round in the past. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
