Hiya guys right I am completely useless when it comes to electrics and anything that comes along with it. I am modifying my what was 99 mpi mini to carb type for the new turbo engine.

So my question is, does anyone out ther know if there is a specific wiring loom available on the market for this type of conversion as obviously all the sensors/engine management wires are different.. Also do I have to keep my ecu in place to support remote central locking/alarm/basically will I need the ecu to power anything that will be left over from the mpi car model.

Hope I've xplained my situation well enough.
Thanks, Jack

we did spi to carb quite easily. the mpi loom is an entirely different loom by the looks of things. it may be better to replace the whole loom with an spi/carb one?

I heard the alarm is built into the ecu I this correct?

So if I was to replace the entire loom from the one I have would I be better off switching to the carb style or SPI? I won't be carrying out this work as I said I'm a complete novice when it comes to electrics. But the guy who will be asked me to get as much info as possible as he hasn't heard of anyone doing this conversion before.

Cheers, Jack
