I am currently sizing up how much fuel line I am going to need to do my car. I am planning on using braided line 8mm ID for the send and return feeds. I have an alloy tank with 8mm outlets and returns, the FPR has 8mm tails, but my problem is that my fuel pump (a standard Metro turbo) has one 8mm pressed outlet and one 10mm pressed outlet. This means I will somehow need to use a 8mm-10mm adapter. Will this restrict the flow and cause issues??? Does anyone have advice on the best method to overcome this?

Many thanks

Yes an 8mm outlet from the tank is very small and will restrict flow.

You need a larger outlet on the tank IMO.

Balls! I wonder if I can get a new outlet welded onto it. So would you think that a 10mm fuel tamk outlet to fuel pump will be fine, then 8mm out of the other side of the pump and 8mm return will be sufficient enough?
Many thanks

Plenty of people use 8mm for feed and return so I think it'll be fine tbh. I'm using the standard mpi tank and lines which are 8mm.

Thanks Gav.
Would you just use a 10-8mm adapter between the tank and fuel pump then?

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

We ran the factory 5 or 6mm supply line on the upside down skip and it was never short of fuel, pump never had a problem.

I'd have expected the pump to be screaming it's head off.

Even on mine with a 10mm and bad choice of prefilter it was screaming it's head off due to the restriction.

It was a little noisy, but we just assumed that was because it was a Bosch copy...
