Hi all,

I just want some advise, I am looking to make my 5 x 10" special rims into 7 x 10" 1 piece split rims by force racing.

Now my question is what tyres are the best to go for?

I am looking to drive to car for road use mainly and some track days.

I am am thinking of of Yokohama A032R or A008R?

Finally would I need to run inner tubes with these split rims from force racing?

All help is really appreciated

Thank you

Bobby

Best to ask force racing about it, but on any split rims personally I would tube just in case. 032's are great dead racey looking and grippy but wear real fast, 008 good last longer..your call on look you want, personally Dunlop SP's retro to the max..

Yes you have to run tubes with split specials.

Also I don't like stretching tyres so would be tempted to stick with 6x10.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I would agree tyres stretched look kinda cool, but that was an American look from the 70's and they cant make cars go round corners *wink* cornering in a stretched tyre like that must be interesting the logos are nearly running on he road before the corner let alone going round it.

Driving a car on stretched tyres isn't honestly that bad, but wha you need to remember is that a stretched won't perform to its best,

The reason for stretched tyres is so you can get wide wheels 'under' an arche etc. and that's not neccessary on a mini.

I'm with Jon that really you want no wider than a 6 inch wide wheel for to perform a it's best.

This is advice from me as I run stretched tyres on my daily.

I've had a 165 45 15 on a 7, 185 45 on an 8' and current set up is a 195 45 on a 9.

Had no problems, but it's not built to handle well *wink*

Northamptonshire.

Streched tyres are stupid! 10 x 6.5 is enough at a push but Vdubbers go too stupid! at tyre shop we refused to fit them on grounds we view them as dangerous

Somewhere around Swindon

i looked around for some 32r's the other day and was surprised to see them rated on a site for 5-7 inch widths, mine are 6 3/4 wide and they dont look stretched imo

on subject i prefer the 32's however they are soft and wear out twice as quick that does not bother me if i was worried about wear i would buy the 008's

Looks like the 32s are the way to go, but JT had a good question, how many miles would you get in those 32's?
