Sad news, no other way to say it, on Monday afternoon we had to have our German Shepherd Asha put to sleep.

As many of you will know we were fostering her from a local dog sanctuary, she had an inoperable cancerous tumour on her skull. She had been in kennels for 18 months before we came along, she has had 11 very happy months with us and us with her, sadly the time had come when it was no longer fair for her to keep battling her illness.

I am gutted, absolutely gutted, no other way to put it, I would have given absolutely anything to make her better. A lot of the local lads have met her over the last 11 months and will know how gentle and playful she was, fate sometimes is very unfair and this is certainly the case to a beautiful and lovely dog.



To try and make something positive out of a bad time I am holding a collection to make a donation to the Mayflower Sanctuary who have supported us wonderfully over the last 11 months, and without who many dogs would not get the second chance they deserve, being abandoned or mistreated through no fault of their own.
If anyone feels they have a bit of spare cash to donate to a good cause then the only easy way I can think is to use Paypal to me, I will then send a cheque to the Mayflower Sanctuary and report back here on what I have collected. Paypal id tom.fenton@blueyonder.co.uk

Sorry for your loss, my dad rescues boxers and especially White ones which are rare as they are more prone to cancerous tumours, and as a result they are normally drown as pups, we have had a few that have had to be put asleep and it's never nice, I know if anything happened to my pups I would die! I'll try pop a few quid across on payday,

Sad times, It killed me getting my German Shepherd put to sleep.

digressing slightly just lost my best friend, my uncle last night with lukimia, gutted!!! Was there when he died.

I also had a German shepherd put down a couple of years back, so I know what your going through.

I always say, if your going to die, do it doing what you love, and I'm sure she died happy.

Really sorry to hear this. She was a cracking dog, really good temperament once she had decided you where allowed through the front gate.

She was a lovely dog Tom, so sorry for your loss.

As all the others have said she was a cracking dog and more than that best friend. We all become so attarched to these animals, we had a good 16yrs with our chock lab but 11mths seams like yesterday.

Gutted for you mate.
