Firstly the carb rebuild lol again, do these pictures look right ? I have however taken the throttle lever back off due to it hitting the manifold so im assuming the throttle lever has to go on the other side now ?

This is the side the throttle needs to go on

Side which throttle was on

This is what i got left

Secondly, the cylinder head i have is a 12g295 ..... Are there any sign from these pics that is an unleaded head ?

Cheers

Oddly enough mines on the opposite side to yours and would be interested to see if anyone thinks it makes a difference

As it is in the pic there wont fit, i trial fitted the manifold and the throttle lever had to come off, do you have any pics of yours craig ?
Im assuming the standard hif44 carb has the lever on the opposite side to the hif44 turbo carb.

First issue is, that is not a turbo SU.

This is

And what's going on with those huge valve guides ?

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

there are different turbo carbs that had the throttle levers different sides i think its the earlier ones that have both the same side. They use a different abuntment plate and the cutout in the manifolds were different. It foremu really matter what you use as long as you make enough clearance for everything.

If it is any help, I have had to "ease" the inlet manfold to allow the throttle to open and close - just a little with an angle grinder.

The issue with your throttle cam is that it is huge. Look at it compared to the turbo one. They are totally different.
If you can find the correct or a smaller throttle cam, you should be fine.

The guides just look very unfinished. Big and square inside the port.
Maybe it's just been that long since I seen a standard one....

If simple stuff like this is bothering you, I'd suggest you go and buy all the standard metro turbo bits and just bolt it together.

This really isn't an issue with "turbo stuff".

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Mate what you have to do is slow down make a plan, Think about a part and what you have to do to make it work, Ie carb, then have a read up on it! as its been done before! and then buy what you need.

Remember every day's a school days, If i worked on my car as much as i sit on here reading it would be done in a week.
