You may have checked all the hoses on the carb, but the symptoms are exactly what you get when the lean off pipe is split or leaking.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

air leak, no oil in the dashpot ( or too thin oil ), or simple fuel supply problem.

I havenet replaced the lean off pipe with new one but did check it, i will replace it just to rule it out. Am i right in thinking there should be one pipe blocked off next to the two fuel pipes? Ruled out fuel problem today, getting ample pressure, used two pumps and checked fuel lines. Oil I am using is 20 50, will try others this weekend.

By two fuel pipes I meant the two from the regulator, Feed and return, right? On 6th Nov, 2012 Minimad30 said:
the picture is one iv used before to set up the connections but where it says dump, boost gauge I have a breather from the timing case connected. Is this right?? No, as it's turbo, connecting to the breathers to the manifold will result in all sorts of problems. It can be connected, but it needs a on-way valve. I'd take it off, block the pipe in the manifold and see what happens Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Well after some fiddling and using the T piece trick the engine is now running but intermittently i am still getting this problem.... As soon as the accelerator is depressed it bogs down and dies. Is the std mini fuel pipe large enough to use as a fuel supply line? im hoping this is just a fueling issue, i need to get a better idea of my fueling mixture before i end up doing some harm.

Popping through the carb indicates lean mixture.

Pretty sure it cant be the needle unless i was supplied the wrong needle in the turbo carb rebuild kit. If it helps the other turbo carb i had on first also had the same issue... |

Yea will rev up freely on choke so it sounds lean, acts lean, and giving it more fuel stops it from doing it but- On 3rd Jun, 2013 Minimad30 said:

It is a lack of fuel. And sounds like either wrong needle or poorly adjusted needle, assuming dashpot has oil etc etc etc 9.85 @ 145mph

Did you fit the correct gasket between the carb and plenum? The turbo gasket has the extra hole. If your not sure, try the the t piece trick to rule it out. |
