Hi all,

I just want to find out which diff is in a standard MG Metro Turbo Gearbox?

Is a x pin diff?

as I am not too sure, I might buy a engine with the gearbox, but want to know if these are x pin diff?

Cheers

Bobby

oh ok so I may just be better off upgrading my box, with a x pin diff and putting in some straight cut gears with drops

A standard gearbox has a standard diff.

Cross pin diffs are an aftermarket part.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

And a 3.1 final drive for a normally aspirated mg

What size wheels and tyres are you going to use? And what are you using the car for track or road?

Hi guys the car is going to be for road use and some track days, when I get a chance.

The car is going to running on 10's.

Guys thanks a lot the help.

Craigie-B this is a good diif to go for, do have any recommendations for the straight cut gears, drop gears and final drive?

Cheers again

Bobby

Thats the diff I put in mine, based on recommendations from here.

I still have standard gearbox final drive and helical drops so wont be able to make a recommendation on them :)

Use a 2.9 crown wheel and pinion on ten inch wheels
