Was out one evening, came onto boost up a hill and got a loud pop noise like a balloon exploding.
Would just like someone to clarify if I'm correct, so..
Now if I ever come onto boost under a sufficient amount of load, for example 4th on a motorway it hisses under part throttle and a lack of power. But fine on vacuum and Lower gears its fine, no problem at all.
Boost gauge reads as it should
There is slight play in the spindle
If your quick enough after a drive you can see vapours escaping either side of the body where the spindle exits the body.

Low boosting for now.

Sounds like maybe your seals are not what they used to be, but I don't think this is the immediate problem.

Sounds more like a boost hose has popped off, or some other connection in the carb or manifold.

do you have the metro crank ventilation connected to the manifold? also check the servo if fitted

The cars been off the road for a while now and i think the actual boost leak appears to be head gasket related, fired it up the other day, ran lumpy, so i sprayed all the spark plugs etc with some wd, bubbles were emerging from number 4 spark plug and a couple of head stud threads

Low boosting for now.
