Force Racing ICT Dept Manager Miglia Turbo Am frum Yokshyer tha noes!

Chaps, the audi dropped a coil pack at the weekend. I did the usual diagnosis bits and bobs and bought a new bosch one from the local motorfactors, all was fine (i did the plugs while i was at it)

Anyways a 2nd one went last night, not the new one by the way, same again did the usual and replaced it all is well again.

Is it common for them to pop in pairs or could this be sign of an underlying issue??

Just bad luck I would say, they are known for being fooking shite to put it mildly, I know people with the same engine who carry a spare and the tools to change it in the boot.

My cousin had an A3 with same motor as yours Mike and he got though about half a dozen coil packs in the time he had it.

Do a quick Google and you'll see they are just wank. Some people even upgrade them to use coil packs from the newer 2.0T engines by the looks of things.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

very common on these apparently; we certainly replaced one on the TT (along with pretty much every other conceivable mechanical item!) however never had a days bother with my old golf whcih managed a very hard 110k on the originals
