Chaps, the audi dropped a coil pack at the weekend. I did the usual diagnosis bits and bobs and bought a new bosch one from the local motorfactors, all was fine (i did the plugs while i was at it)
1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Just bad luck I would say, they are known for being fooking shite to put it mildly, I know people with the same engine who carry a spare and the tools to change it in the boot.

I know its a pretty common issue with these things, Ive had the car over 2 years and its not missed a beat to be fair (touches wood) 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

My cousin had an A3 with same motor as yours Mike and he got though about half a dozen coil packs in the time he had it.
If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

very common on these apparently; we certainly replaced one on the TT (along with pretty much every other conceivable mechanical item!) however never had a days bother with my old golf whcih managed a very hard 110k on the originals |

To be fair thay all look orig and its done 120 thou 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

i run these coils on my mini and always carried a spare. found them cheapest from the main dealers too! turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

£30 bangers steve, i could got em cheaper but the girtrude needed to vehicle 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.
