Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

Did you juts fit a x pin diff to a unknown gearbox what has done starship miles?
I guess this is the case.

To be honest the gearbox needs a full!!! Rebuild,
And most probably. The whole engine, with debris getting in ever orafice blocking the filter and then going in the bypass valve straight to the engine bearings. ..etc

the bearing is pressed in but you can drift it in and out easy
and yes i thing the bearing could be the cause of the problems

getting it out is easy, undo the 3 bolts in the bearing retainer and pull the shaft it will come out, you may need a slide hammer or some ingenuity

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

be careful just pulling it out. You may end up with synchro hub balls and springs everywhere...

Just remove the c-bracket and tap it out from the other side with a blunt object.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Drift the bearing out, don't use a slide hammer it will all end in more! Tears

I followed the method on the mini engine builder DVD where you tap the other end with a soft mallet and then shuffled the gears up and used a couple of c washers on the main shaft and used it to drift it out.

Not that it makes any difference if med are going to do it :)

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

I bought the 'special' spacer tool for pulling the bearing out with a slide hammer. Made the tool to attach the slide hammer to the main shaft as described by Turbo Dave somewhere in the depths of this forum. This is the 'offical' Austin Rovor method of removing the bearing and the Churchil tools are shown in the work shop manual. Never had any synchro bearings escape and is far far easier than drifting the bearing out.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I use the slide hamper method with home made adaptor and spacer. I prefer this as everything comes out nice and straight. not broken anything yet.
