Has anyone experienced spark blow out under higher boost on a turbo a series? Think im getting the problem at 20ish psi since changing cylinder heads from the normal high boost spec to something a bit different with small inlets and big exhausts valves, after ignoring the problem and the car for a year or more i should really try to sort it out!

Any ideas appreicated

gaps down to .5mm oli?

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

If your new head creates too much swirl, it could be blowing out the spark. Since the spark would have to travel further, you need a more powerful coil to jump the gap, or reduce the swirl a bit.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Wintersurfer had this on the rollers at just 10psi. Closing the gaps sorted it.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I ran a Crane Hi6 setup with one of their CDI coils when I had mine running some 16-18 years ago

Then I wrecked the amp, so it was just the PS92 or PS91 coil. Cant remember which. One is CDI only, the other can be used with regular electronic or the CDI amp
That was with coil/dizzy though.

What ignition setup do you currently have ?

tryed just running a new coil? i tryed to work out a decent plug gap for mine, i increased the plug gap so far the spark was jumping sideways to the threaded part before it caused issues
i think there back down to 0.7mm now because when i lean it off on cruise i couldnt get it to go as lean as i want

Ive tried a few standard ford coils (running megajolt) admittedly all used and taken from old scrap fords which i suppose isnt ideal!

Have you tried another EDIS module ?

With MJ, the key parameters that affect spark strength (charge/dwell time) is done inside the EDIS module, not the MJ itself.

Yours might be on its way out or just at the extreme edge of its specification range.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

crank sensor has no impact on coil power.

It may lead to misfires and unstable rpm readings etc, but it cannot impact on how much energy the coil creates for the spark.
