Probably rusted in to the cast iron. They should not be more than breaker bar can cope with. Clamp in in a vice and heat them up to crack the rust |

got it off heat! did the trick! still tight nearly shit my pants straining lol.

I tighten them "Tight" with bit of lock tight bit OTT but gives me peace of mind |

i think every one struggles with these at some point, experience taught me to crack them off with the calliper still on and a helper on the brakes, same for the castle nut although i can do that with the wheel on too Yes i moved to the darkside |

That would work for Cooper S type which use a countersunk screw, but the 8.4" type use a hex head bolt, which is usually a LOT tighter than the countersunk screws ever are, as the wheel studs are on the disc of a Cooper S disc, meaning the wheel nuts clamp it all up, but on the drive flange of an 8.4", which means the 4 bolts have to transfer all the braking load.
