With leaded petrol ( or LRP ) becoming a bit scarce, is there any additive that can be added to unleaded petrol that will prevent damage to the engine? |

If you are planning to keep the vehicle for some time, I would personally get the cylinder head converted to unleaded, and then forget about it and use regular unleaded fuel available anywhere. In the long run this would probably save you money, as LRP or additives will eventually cost you more than the cylinder head would to have converted.

Either LRP, although not heard the best reports on it, or preferably unleaded with added "lead substitute". I have heard that the Castrol ones are supposed to be good, but I have never needed to use any myself so I don't know?

Don't put crap in your fuel, a lot of it is just that, get some pukka lead and add to 95 octane NOT 98. (98 has more benzene in it which screws up lead response) www.tetraboost.com or just get hold of a chemist with some glassware Bugger off, I'm getting there. |

What sort of expense are you looking at to have a head converted to unleaded fuel? |

Castrol and millers both work well.
